Ms. Mayfield appeared on NBC-TV�s "207" to discuss the bullying epidemic in relation to her book, Bullied, and has also been a guest on the radio shows "Maine Calling" and "The Matthew Brower Radio Show." The Box of Daughter, Ms. Mayfield's debut memoir, won the 2012 New England Book Festival and Reader's Favorite Book Awards, and was nominated as a Finalist in the 2013 Maine Literary Awards.
The Box of Daughter is based on the title poem in her book of poems, The Box of Daughter and Other Poems. Her short story, The Last Visit, which is based on the last time she visited her father in hospice care, won the Honorable Mention award in the 2011 Warren Adler Short Story Contest.
Ms. Mayfield appeared on a book marketing panel at the 2013 New England Book Festival in Boston, MA, and appears regularly at the Portsmouth Athen�um's Wednesday Writers' Series in Portsmouth, NH. She has presented workshops at Maine Authors Publishing in Rockland, ME, the Mindshift Institute in Northampton, MA, Green River Yoga in Greenfield, MA, The National Spiritual Alliance in Lake Pleasant, MA, and the Sober in the Sun Festival in Spencer, MA.
